Prayer/Support Update

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
Philippians 4:19-20

Here's an update on how things are going as I prepare to go to Kenya. It’s been a little over a month since I sent out my prayer/support letters and I have received a little over half of the $8000 that I need to be able to serve a 4 month STINT in Kenya. I am very excited and I praise the Lord for how graciously and quickly He has provided thus far!! I would really like to be able to leave by the last week of July and I’m trusting Him to provide the remaining $3620 in the next few weeks. Please continue to join me in praying that the Lord would provide this remaining support and that He would continue to prepare me to serve Him in Mombasa. A huge THANK YOU goes to everyone who have already sent financial gifts towards my support goal and who have committed to pray for me and for the ministry in Kenya. God has been doing great things through Dennis and the Serve Ministry team so far this summer and I’m eagerly waiting to join them!! Check out the Serve Kenya link to see updates from Dennis and the team members already there. Dennis, Drew and Bret as well as Brenda and Diane are there now. (first two pictures). Jill, Patrick, Myself, Kristin and Abby will be joining them later in the coming months) Here's pictures of some of them!

A Weekend at the Beach

I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! Its been a hot one here in Raleigh..but its good preparation for the weather to come in Mombasa...HOT HOT HOT!! This past weekend I had the opportunity to spend a few days at Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, NC. It was a beautiful weekend to be at the beach! I went with a sweet Kenyan family i know from church and from Southeastern. I had a blast with Liz and her children Brian, Michelle, and Paul as well as their friend Holly visiting from Seattle. Unfortunately the dad, Caxton wasn't able to join us. We had so much fun jumping waves, swimming in the ocean, building sand castles, and burying each other in the sand. I was hoping to get a little tan before braving the hot sun in Kenya, but unfortunately all this white girl got was a sunburn! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Dreaming of Mombasa....

Well tonight i was just looking through some of my pictures from my two years in Kenya. Its so hard to believe its been almost a year since i've been home. Time sure does fly. And now its hard to believe that i'm going back so soon. I'm getting really excited and looking through all of my pictures is making me even more excited. i found a couple pictures of the city of Mombasa I thought I'd go ahead and share. One is a picture of the big famous TUSKS that bridge across the street. Another is a picture of the city taken from a boat in the water. And the other is a picture of the Ferry boat you have to ride to get from the South side of the island to land.

Support Raising Has Begun

Hi Everyone!! The support raising process and journey to get to Kenya has begun! And I'm praising the Lord because its been only a week since I sent out my support letters and already i've graciously recieved $130 towards the $8,000 i need to be able to go to Kenya. Thank you to those who have already given and to those who have committed to pray for me. Thank you for your partnership in spreading the gospel and discipling believers in Kenya!! I'm excited to see how the Lord continues to provide over the weeks to come and how HE is going to work out all the remaining details. I've finally moved out of my apartment and have settled in with the Asta family. I've loved it here so far. They are so gracious to allow me to stay with them during this transitioning process. I am also praising the Lord for the work HE's provided in these last weeks with Newborn Homecare. These past weeks have been such a blessing and such a reminder that the Lord is our provider and takes care of all of our needs! I've been getting really excited about returning to Kenya and looking forward to all the Lord is going to do!! Here's a few pictures of my time before. One is a beautiful East African sunrise over the Indian Ocean, something i miss so much! The other is of me and little Mwanarusi from the village. I bet she's grown so much in this last year. I look forward to going back to visit. Also please check out the links to my other photos!
