Kenyan Show N Tell
This morning Dennis got a fun chance to be a 7th graders "show and tell". Yep, Sam, the son of the Sizeloves', who's barn we live in, took Dennis to be his show and tell at school. Sam did a geography project and one of the countries he studied was Kenya. All of the kids had to bring souvenirs from their particular countries of interest, so Sam brought a real live souvenir. I also cooked some Pilau, a Kenyan Coastal dish, to take for the class to try. We had a lot of fun. Dennis did a great job in front of the class sharing with them about Kenya. He talked about just how different school is there, marriages, food, etc. I was able to show them just how a Kenyan woman wraps herself in kangas and pass around musical instruments. And Dennis even left the school having learned a lot about what an American 7th grade classroom and school looks like. His comment,,,"even the Kenyan Universities don't look like this". Needless to say, the kids were really amused by Dennis' height as well. Thanks Sam for this fun opportunity. We hope you get an A+ on your project!!!
